Happy 26th!

Today is my 26th birthday and I can hardly believe how fast the last year has gone by! This time last year I was getting ready to leave on a girls trip to Vegas and was just finishing up my 25 things to do before turning 25. Life has been busy and exciting and I look forward to another amazing year. I am always reminded on my birthday of the incredible blessings in my life and just how lucky I am. I am so incredibly grateful for my family, my amazing husband, my incredible friends, our beautiful home, a successful career, and the ability to enjoy this beautiful life!

Since I am now officially 26 (as of 3:28 this morning), my blog will need to be changed to reflect the next chapter in my life. Over the next few weeks I will either be changing up this blog and making some edits or transitioning to an entirely new blog site. Stay posted as I transition my blog and hope you keep reading! :)

First Day of Spring

My absolute favorite season is Spring and I am thrilled that we are officially in Spring (even if the weather hasn't caught up yet). I am looking forward to the warm weather, relaxing walks in the evenings, and everything turning green and beautiful again! I have spent sometime browsing Pinterest and some of my favorite blogs for some Spring inspiration and here are just a few of the pictures/ideas:
  • Easter Cupcakes - Spring means Easter and these cupcakes would be perfect for an Easter treat!
I hope the Spring weather gets here soon so that we can enjoy the sunshine and all of my favorite things in Spring!

Book Club Updates

It has been way too long since I have posted an update about book club... life has been a bit busy! I missed this month's gathering due to a work conflict and was only able to make it through about half of the book 'Rules of Civility'. This book was definitely not my favorite and was really hard to get into. I have found that if a book does not capture my attention within the first few chapters, I am unlikely to finish the book or even enjoy reading it. Each time our group reads a book that I don't love, it reminds me that there are great books, okay books, and not so great books and each reader thinks of the book differently. I have also learned a valuable time saving lesson in relation to book club, if I don't like the book then why do I waste the time finishing it. I know some people may say that the book may become great by the ending but I just can't waste my time reading a book I don't enjoy. Hence, I didn't finish this month's book club selection.

I love starting a new book for the next month and for April's gathering we are reading 'Summer in Tuscany' by Elizabeth Adler. This book seems like a great light read and is a story about a mother, her daughter, and her mother traveling to Italy for a summer. I plan to start this book by the weekend and hope that it catches my attention quickly! :) Happy Reading!

Birthday Wish List

My 26th birthday is just under two weeks away and I have been pondering my wishlist for a few months. These are a few of the things that I would just LOVE to have... they are all wants and not needs, but I would love to have them none the less.
  • iPhone 4S - I would love to have a smart phone that I can use wherever I go and I hear it takes amazing pictures!

I am looking forward to celebrating my birthday with family and friends and just enjoying another great year ahead of me! Bring on the 26!

Pictures from California Trip

My husband and I went to California about two weeks ago and I am just now getting around to transferring the pictures to my computer... needless to say life has been crazy busy! We spent 4 days in the central coast area of California with our best friends Laura, Jordan, and their 2 year old daughter Anela. The days were filled with lots of sunshine, the beach, shopping, and relaxing with our friends. There is just something about being at the beach in the sunshine and just having the stress of life melt away... it was purely wonderful. Here are just a few pictures from the beach... so beautiful!

The Pier at Avila Beach

The Calm Waters and Sandy Beach... Perfect!

The vacation was wonderful and of course too short! We loved spending the long weekend with our best friends and hope to travel again with them soon. Oh, how I long for the beach when there is still snow on my front lawn... Is it Spring yet?

Grand Junction Rockies Baseball Tickets

My husband and I are huge baseball fans and have been going to Rockies games in Denver for about 4 years. Earlier this year we found out that our town is getting there very own Single A baseball team and they will also be called the Rockies. We called the team office immediately once we found out they were coming to town and ended up 33rd on the list for season ticket selection. We were able to choose our season ticket seats last weekend and have amazing seats along the 1st base line about 6 rows back. The season includes 42 home games in a brand new stadium that they are finishing in a few months. My husband is beyond thrilled with the number of baseball games we will be going to and the season tickets ended up being such a great price, that each game is going to cost us about $5 each for each game! We both wanted to focus on spending time in our local community this year finding low cost and fun activities, and this is the perfect match. The season starts in June and we can't wait!
