Scrap Fabric Wreath for the Nursery

A few months ago I found a great idea on Pinterest for a scrap fabric wreath that I knew would be perfect for Olivia's room. We had lots of extra fabric scraps from the beautiful quilt my mom made for Olivia and needed to use them up. This project was inexpensive (the fabric scraps were essentially free and the wreath frame was only about $5) and the wreath was fairly easy to make. It took me a couple of weeks to finish the project since I only had 20-30 minute intervals to work on it while Olivia napped. Here are a few pictures of the finished wreath...

I love how this wreath turned out and it looks adorable in the nursery hanging above Olivia's crib!

Nursery Decor and Details

Our baby girl's room is coming along beautifully and we will be spending lots of time in the coming weeks finishing up some projects and putting some of the finishing decor details on her room. So far the room has been painted in a beautiful soft yellow and we have put the crib and changing table together in the last two weeks. This week we are having book shelves installed on the walls next to the window and starting to organize her closet. I have been busy placing orders on Etsy and a few other websites for decor items, storage solutions, and supplies for the DIY craft projects that I still need to complete. Here are just a few of the details we are adding to the nursery:

I am excited for the items I ordered to arrive so that I can work on the finishing details for the nursery and start organizing all of the amazing gifts, gear, and clothes we have received from family and friends. I will be busy working on a few DIY craft projects in the coming weeks and will post updates on those projects soon!

Nursery Furniture and Fabric Selections

Last weekend we finally decided on a set of furniture for the nursery. We had wanted to go with a dark wood and have been searching for a set that matched and coordinated together in the room. After much searching, we final landed on this collection from Target. I love the style of the crib and can't wait to see our little girl grow up using this furniture in her room. The grandparents of our little girl are being so generous and purchasing the nursery furniture for us. We are so blessed and grateful for their generosity and excited to put together her room!

We also choose the most darling paint color for the room and adorable fabric for the crib bedding and curtains. The walls will be a pale sunny yellow that will coordinate beautifully with the dark furniture and the fabric selections. I am completely in love with these fabrics and can't wait to see them sewn into beautiful curtains and crib bedding for our little girl. These fabrics are so girly and sweet but also not too babyish and will work in her room as she grows into a toddler.

I have been browsing Etsy and Pinterest for nursery decor and accessory ideas and will be posting a few of my purchases and creations in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration

Our little girl's room will soon be remodeled and designed just for her! The room is the perfect size and just across the hall from our room and has a good sized closet for all of her adorable clothes! I have been browsing Pinterest and various websites for ideas for the nursery including colors, furniture, and decor accents. Here are just a few of my favorite ideas that I have pinned on my Future Baby Room board on Pinterest:

• DIY Ledges for Books and Pictures: This link has a great tutorial on building these shelves to hold all of her books, photos of baby girl and family, and maybe even an decorative letter for her first initial.

• Changing Table and Dresser: I absolutely love this changing table/dresser combo! I just can't decide between the ivory color or the dark brown wood color. And finding a crib to match perfectly might be a bit challenging :)

• Button Letter Art: I just love the look of this picture and it looks so easy to make. This would be a fun way to use leftover craft buttons and have baby girl's initial displayed on the wall.

I am excited to create a nursery for our little girl that will be sweet, calming, organized, and inviting. She will be spending many days and nights in her room and I hope we can create the perfect little space for her.
