Baby Shower Gifts

Creating fun baby shower gifts is almost as much fun as throwing the baby shower. It is a tradition with my co-workers that we put together a diaper cake for each new baby in the office. This time we made sure to match the cake design to the shower theme including the bright yellow ribbon and sunflower accents. This diaper cake had over 150 diapers and is a great way to get the new mom started on a healthy supply for the new baby.

The gift that I created for Laura came from an idea I saw on Martha Stewart months ago. These adorable monthly baby onesies were so easy to create and a really special gift for the new baby. I bought the iron on transfers from an Etsy shop and found the different sizes of white onesies at JCPenney. Be sure to wash the onesies before hand and take your time cutting out the iron on transfers and ironing them to the onesies. Once they are done, allow them to cool for awhile before packing them up. Here are a few pictures of the onesies and the final gift in the box.

I loved putting together these adorable gifts for Laura and know that she will use these and love them. I can't wait to see pictures of her little boy in these cute little onesies!

Bumble Bee Baby Shower - Recap and Pictures

This past Saturday, I hosted a bumble bee baby shower for one of my best friends Laura who is expecting a baby boy on April 25th. I had been planning this shower since January and wanted all of the details to come together and match the adorable bumble bee theme. I had posted several ideas on the inspiration board on Pinterest and used several of these ideas throughout the shower.

The shower started with this adorable invitation designed on Tiny Prints.

The menu consisted of carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, chocolate oreos filled with yellow cream, pretzels dipped in yellow chocolate, mini bags of kettle corn, and these adorable yellow burst cake mix cookies.

These adorable mason jars with yellow and grey striped straws were available for lemonade or ice water and these bottled waters were wrapped with yellow scrapbook paper and Lemondrop Twine from The Twinery.

The favor bags were filled with a variety of yellow candies and a packet of sunflower seeds to be planted when the baby is born.

We played a fun game called 'what's in your purse' where the ladies had to search for 15 different items in their purses and whoever had the most points won a fun little gift set of Burt's Bee Products.

I also put together cards called 'wishes for baby' and each guest wrote down some wishes they have for Laura's soon to arrive little bundle of joy. You can use this template for ideas and then make your own design on your computer.

The shower was great and Laura enjoyed every bit of it. I love when a party comes together and the bumble bee theme was one of my favorites!

Baby Shower Inspiration

I have posted many times about my love of the website Pinterest and the amazing ideas you can find there. I have started an inspiration board for the bumble bee baby shower in March and have been posting some adorable ideas. I love planning parties and this one is extra special because it will be for one of my dearest friends, Laura. She is truly the most kind, beautiful, and amazing woman that I could have for a friend and I can't wait to spoil her for her upcoming baby shower. Over the next few weeks I will be ordering some fabulous party supplies and tying together the details for the shower. Here are just a few ideas that I will be adding to the party:
This baby shower is going to be adorable and I love how the yellow details are going to match the invitation perfectly! I will be posting ideas and pictures over the next few weeks as the planning details come together... oh how I love to plan a great party!

    Bumble Bee Baby Shower

One of my best friends Laura is expecting her second baby on April 25th and I am thrilled to be able to host her baby shower! She is having a baby boy and the theme for the shower will be bumble bees with the colors yellow, black, and grey. I designed the adorable invitation on Tiny Prints and just love how they turned out!

The shower will be on March 31st, so I still have a few months to plan all of the adorable details. I am finding some really cute ideas on the website Pinterest and can't wait to spoil the mom to bee! I will be posting ideas for the shower over the next few weeks and of course will post a full recap and pictures after the shower.... can't wait!

    Baby Shower Recap

On Friday, I hosted a baby shower for two of the pregnant ladies in my office. They are both have boys and are due at the end of October, so a joint shower was the perfect idea! Part of the gifts from everyone at the office were a three tiered diaper cake for each of them with an adorable stuffed animal on top. The office pitched in and bought diapers and then I spent about 2 hours on Wednesday night putting them together. Here are few pictures of the cakes:
One of my other co-workers (and best friends) Laura made these adorable cake pops in three different flavors: carrot cake, strawberry, and chocolate. These little pieces of heaven were a huge hit!
The shower turned out great and both Debi and Colleen loved their gifts and diaper cakes. I can't wait to see both of their new baby boys in a few months!

    Baby Shower Planning

Next Friday I will be throwing a double baby shower for two ladies in my office that are both having boys and due 3 days apart at the end of October. The invitation for the shower was designed on Tiny Prints and the invite is shown below.
This shower will be a lunch at the office and then a few simply shower games and of course the glowing pregnant ladies opening gifts. It is a tradition in our office to put together diaper cakes for all of the new moms and I have been designated as the 'diaper cake creator', which I love! Each person brings in a pack of diapers and then I form them into a three tiered cake wrapped in ribbon and each cake holds about 200 diapers. This is a great way to celebrate the ladies with a crafty gift and they also go home with something they can use for weeks and months to come! I will be sure to post pictures of the diaper cakes and the shower details next weekend after the baby shower!
