Tie Dye Party Favors

The tie dye party is a week from tomorrow and it's been a blast planning! I am excited to get together with my co-workers and have a potluck lunch and tie dye for the afternoon. I am a big believer that you can't have a great party without some adorable favors. I went to our local candy store and picked up a fun selection of salt water taffy in colors that matched the invite and most of them have a tie dye look to them. The favors will be a cellophane bag filled with about a dozen pieces of taffy with the attached favor card and some bright ribbon to tie it all together. So sweet!
I love handing out adorable and edible favors at the end of a party and I hope the office guys and gals will enjoy it too! I can't wait to post about how the party turns out!

Loving the Book!

I have spent a large part of my time this past weekend reading and relaxing, which has been great! I am absolutely loving the current book club book and find myself not wanting to put it down. The story captured my attention right away and I love how the storyline is playing out. I am only about a third of the way through the book and find myself not wanting this book to ever end. The emotions that the main characters are experiencing feels so raw and real that you feel like you know them. I can already tell that this book will give us great discussion at our next book club meeting! Okay, headed back to the couch to read some more... :)

Happiness Reminder

I just came across an email with an amazing quote on happiness. This was just the reminder I needed today!

5 Rules for Happiness:
  • free your heart from hate
  • free your mind from worry
  • live simply
  • expect less
  • give more
Hope you are having a great Monday and remember, happiness is yours to enjoy!

Finished the Book

It took me awhile but I finally finished the book club book last night. After a slow start it actually turned out to be an okay book. I would probably give it a grade of a B since it was slow moving at times and sometimes way too much detail to follow along with. I look forward to seeing what the other girls thought about it tonight at book club. I already have next month's selection (we chose 2 books at a time last month) and I am looking forward to starting it this weekend. The next book club book is "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. I have heard so many great things about this book and look forward to reading it!

Book Update

Here I am again with less than a week till book club and still not even half way through the book. I am incredibly frustrated that this book had such a slow start, I have literally picked up and put the book down after a few pages more than a dozen times. I am just about halfway thru the book and the storyline is starting to pick up which means I have approximately 6 days to read the remainder of the book before our meeting next Thursday. So far I would not read this book again, but I feel I need to be fair and finish the book and then decide. I hope to finish by early next week and will be sure to post my review at that time.

Tie Dye Party

It's time to throw another party and this time it will be for my co-workers. We often do potlucks in the office on Friday since we only work till noon and this time I decided a tie dye party would be a great summer get together. Check out the adorable invite below that I designed on tinyprints.com. Love it! Since the menu will be potluck, I plan on putting together some adorable tie dye treats for people to take home with them (stay tuned for more on this). I can't wait to get together on a Friday afternoon and hopefully make some adorable tie dye clothes!
